Terms of Service

1. Agreement to These Terms

Knead gives bakers and other home food businesses a storefront, order management, and checkout tool. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms. If you're using Knead on behalf of a business, you're agreeing on that business's behalf.

2. Eligibility and Your Account

You must be at least 18 years old and able to run a food business under your local laws to create a baker account. You can sign in with an emailed one-time code, or with Google or Apple. You're responsible for keeping your sign-in secure and for all activity under your account, and you should let us know right away at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorized access.

3. Your Content and Data

You own the product listings, photos, and other content you add to your storefront, and the order and customer data your storefront generates. We store it to provide the service to you, and we describe how it's used and shared in our Privacy Policy. You're responsible for making sure your listings and any claims you make (ingredients, allergens, pricing) are accurate.

4. Cottage Food Compliance

Knead is a tool for taking and managing orders, it is not legal, food-safety, or licensing advice. You're solely responsible for knowing and following the cottage food, health, labeling, and business licensing laws that apply to you, including any limits on sales volume, permitted products, or delivery area in your state or locality. We don't verify that your storefront or products comply with those laws.

5. Payments

Today, Knead does not process payments. Checkout shows the customer how to pay you directly (Venmo, Cash App, Zelle, cash, or however you've configured it), and you and your customer are responsible for that payment, not Knead. If we later add card payments through a payment processor, use of that feature will also be governed by that processor's terms, and we'll update this section before it launches.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use Knead for anything illegal, to interfere with other users or the service, to upload harmful code, or to scrape, reverse-engineer, or otherwise disrupt the application.

7. Termination

You can stop using Knead and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these terms or misuse the service.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

Knead is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We don't guarantee the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, Knead isn't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including lost sales, lost data, or disputes between you and your customers arising from orders placed through the service.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated terms.

11. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
